The Wolfpack head to Chapel Hill to play the UNC Tarheels 8th ranked men’s basketball team on Tuesday. This game is a must win for the Wolfpack as they lost the earlier matchup at PNC Arena. Look for forward Wyatt Walker to be a deciding force in this game. Walker has been a rebounding machine lately, grabbing 12 offensive rebounds in the last two games and averaging 7 points.

The Wolfpack also has several players averaging double digits and will need each of them to step up against the Tarheels if they expect a “W” in the win column. The Pack averages 31.5 points from the bench and is outscoring opponent’s bench by 324 points this year.

The Tarheels lead the all time series 157-78 and a 25-7 advantage when playing in Chapel Hill. With that said though, NC State won at the Smith Center last season 95-91 in overtime. The Wolfpack is currently sitting at 6-8 against ranked teams, which is why they need this win if they want any respect going into post season play.

One area that NC State needs to focus on is sinking all those three-point attempts they take. They currently average eight more three-point attempts per game than opponents and are sitting at 25.4% from that range. If they are going to attempt that many three-point shots, they need to ensure they fall. Too many attempts have been missed due to poor screens or hesitation on their part. Confidence is key to taking those shots and Kevin Keatts needs to get his team singing the long ball if they want to get ahead and stay ahead.

NC State is a great team with a lot of potential and have the skills to get the job done.
